Important FAQ's About Sizing

Questions about sizings are the most common questions we are asked. Here are some tips to help you buy the perfect size. You will need a tape measure and some way of writing down the measurements you take.

Please follow the instructions carefully before you order

  • Remove bulky clothing. It is best to measure yourself in your undewear.
  • Measure your chest at the widest part.
  • Measure your hips at the widest part.
  • Measure your waist.
  • Now consider your height. This is where you will need to use some common sence.
  • If you are tall and very slim you will need to bear this is mind. DCUK dance clothes are made for the average height person with the measurements given on the chart.
  • If you are taller than average and slim you will need to buy a larger size to take account of the longer torso, leg and arm length you will need.
  • This won't be a problem as the fabrics are very tight to begin with and won't be stretched so much but you will have the length you need.
  • If you measure between sizes decide if you want a tight appearance, in which case go down a size and if you want more room to move go up a size.
  • If you are buying for a company or group please buy sample sizes first to check the sizes before ordering in quantity as this save you time and inconvenience.
  • We have had customers who are 5ft 10 and bought a size 8 because they measure a dress size 8. DCUK garments will be too short in the arms, legs and torso if you do this!
  • REMEMBER The size chart is only a guide and you will need to think about the questions above before you order.
